Wood pellet heating across Canada

I spent a decade working with my brother to found and develop Biothermic Wood Energy Systems whose mission it is to design and supply quality wood heating systems to customers in Canada. Along with chips and firewood, pellet boilers are a mainstay and in demand in some regions of Canada.

As I described in the wood pellet truck project, heating with pellets has to overcome a chicken and egg paradox. Some regions are well on their way, like the Northwest Territories, and some others are just getting started. We had many clients that were willing to put in the efforts to be a grass roots first in their area and other customers that had unique abilities or access to a supply of affordable pellets. Pellet heating is not mainstream yet in Canada as it is in all of Northern Europe.

Our focus was to provide customers ALL of the pieces that they would need for a successful, automated wood pellet heating system. This means being involved with aspects of pellet delivery and storage to boiler supply and training to heating system design and integration. As with anything new, the challenges are never simple.

We designed and supplied dozens of pellet heating systems in most provinces and territories. I personally built several systems, piping, pellet storage, wiring, controls etc. and I’m proud to have gained the generals skills needed to establish biomass projects.

It’s not the mission of Rutter Bioenergy to design or supply smaller pellet systems for residential customers. We would love to work with you to develop clusters of installations along with a plan for bulk wood pellet supply.
