Thunder Bay Wood Energy Roadmap report

Earlier this year I completed the Thunder Bay Wood Energy Roadmap – an independent analysis of the feasibility and economics of a biomass combined heat and power facility connected to a district energy system in Thunder Bay. The model can be exported to any Ontario city.

The work covers the full picture: available fibre supply within the region, grid context and IESO capacity projections, municipal decarbonization commitments, comparative infrastructure costs, a financial model, and a proposed development path. It draws on data from the IESO, Ontario's Forest Biomass Action Plan, Synergy North, and the City of Thunder Bay's own climate targets.

The executive summary is available below. If you're working on something related – a feasibility study, a project concept, a funding case – and want to see the full report, send me an email.

The full report is available on request. Just email me.
